Mental Wellness Sessions

Mental wellness sessions are approached through a trauma-informed, lens. A variety of therapeutic modalities are utilized in order to achieve successful therapeutic outcomes.

Mental wellness sessions are offered by appointment. Most major insurance plans are accepted. The type of insurance you carry should never present a barrier to receiving services. As such, Medicaid (including Iowa Total Care, Molina, Wellpoint (formerly Amerigroup), and Medicare are also accepted.

Private and Sliding Fee payments are available.

School Based Therapy Services

In partnership with Des Moines Public Schools, mental wellness sessions are also provided to students at East High School. School based services can be accessed through the East Counseling Team.

Wellness for Athletes

After struggling to find mental health support for her daughter, who is an elite high school athlete, Amber pursued and was recently awarded a Certificate in Sport Social Work from the University of Michigan, School of Social Work. She is a member of the Alliance of Social Workers in Sports (ASWIS). Amber recognizes the unique needs of athletes (of all ages and skill levels) and together with her team, is prepared to offer support and assistance.

Consultation or presentations for schools or other organizations is available.

Yoga

Ananda Mental Wellness believes in the healing power of yoga. To that end, elements of yoga may be utilized during mental wellness sessions. Trauma - informed yoga is offered to individuals, couples and small groups by appointment.

Corporate Wellness Consultation and Employee Assistance

Are you looking to harness the power of your employees through improved mental wellness? Clinical Supervision

Amber has completed the requisite 6 - hour supervision training to provide supervision to those pursuing their Independent Social Work License. She is registered as an approved supervisor with the State of Iowa. Reach out to inquire about supervision.

***Of note: Staff and Interns of Ananda Mental Wellness do not participate voluntarily in client litigation matters. If subpoenaed to appear as a witness involving a client, you will be contacted to discuss the process. Charges associated with preparation, travel, and time spent in court will be charged at a rate of $350.00 per hour including travel time to and from location.

Additionally, Staff and Interns of do not make custody recommendations.
