Do you accept insurance?

Absolutely! Most major insurance place are accepted, including: Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Health Partners, Iowa Medicaid (including, Amerigroup, Iowa Total Care, and Molina), Medicare, United Health Care and UMR.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Head to the contact page to find our email or phone number. Please send an email or give us a call. Messages will be returned in the order in which they were received, within 3 business days.

How do I cancel an appointment?

We know that life happens. Should something come up and you aren’t able to attend, please email, call or text at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. Fees may apply for those sessions not cancelled within the requested, 48 hours.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes! Virtual sessions are available. A secure link will be provided to join before your scheduled session.

Where are you located?

Nestled in between THE Collective and Sundara, Ananda is conveniently located in the Oak Park/Highland Park Neighborhood of Des Moines’ North Side.

What about parking?

There is a small parking lot (including an accessible spot) located on the south side of the building. Convenient street parking is located on the north side of the building. Should you wish to stroll the neighborhood, a new community lot is located on the corner of 6th Avenue and Clinton (right across from the Des Moines Mercantile.

What can I expect when I arrive for my first appointment?

When you arrive, come on in! Feel free to grab a hot beverage (choose between coffee, tea or hot cocoa). Spring water is also available. Have a seat and your provider will be with you as soon as possible! The first appointment is spent getting to you know you, learning about your therapeutic goals and answering any questions you may have. Your therapist might ask you questions about important relationships in your life, what challenges or stressors you may be facing, and what you do to care for yourself. You are free to bring up anything you’d like to discuss, and do not have to discuss anything that you’re not comfortable with. At the conclusion of the session, your provider will answer any questions you may have, will collect your copay (if you have one) and will schedule your next appointment. Copays are expected at the time of service.
